Community Outreach
At Lakeline Vision Source, we believe strongly in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need. Outreach programs represent an opportunity to show the community the level of commitment our optometrists have to their community. The staff also plays an important role in community outreach.
LLVS often spends a few days working with men from the Austin Salvation Army, taking care of their eye and vision needs.
Salvation Army provides a tremendous amount of support for anybody in need. They even have two separate campuses for men and women, where they take people with real struggles ranging from drug addiction to alcoholism or struggling with psychological trauma, and they do their best to rehabilitate them. They not only teach them life skills but they even help them find employment. They do SO much for Austin, so we want to join in.
The men who came over to our practice are in really good shape and really appreciate our support. Quite a few of them are employed by the Salvation Army doing good work as well.
Our team of doctors all volunteer & give them free eye exams. We even have our opticians come out to help them pick out glasses that are both fashionable and good quality. These guys deserve it.
Whenever we help charities, LLVS gives the very best to everyone. We've even had big companies like Luxottica and Essilor provide some of the frames and lenses for our charity patients.
We know the importance for everyone to look good & make them feel more confident. Along with our continued support of the Salvation Army, we're always supporting other local charities in Austin like the Lion's Club on an on and off basis. Not just adults - we've helped kids from poor families too. We've sponsored local teams & other charities like Community First! that supports the homeless & let them live in a real home.
